More of a reference for myself so that I don’t have to go through this again, but I put together the patches people had in multiple places so that I can install rr62x-dkms on my 12.04 system. Probably a better way to do this, but I’m tired and just wanted to get the system up.
File: rr62x-dkms_1.1_all-3.8.deb
Thank you *so* much for this. I have been literally losing sleep trying to get my Sans Digital TR4UTBP running under RARING. Wanted to use it as Bacula SD space on a new server I put together. Like an idiot, I bought 4 new 3TB drives without testing the rr622 controller first.
So, in case you were wondering… your deb is idiot-proof! ;0) Thanks again.

I really can’t take credit for the heavy lifting (patches). I couldn’t find a pre-made deb and after searching for HOURS, I was able to put together those forum posts to patch and make one for myself. I believe this deb will work up to kernel 3.10, so be careful updating the kernal past that.
Thanks for the heads up! This server is going to combine the functions of a few essential servers here at home. I am making myself a promise to just lock it down and *never* put on unnecessary maintenance or updates.
Of course, that has always been an empty promise I make to myself. ;0) This time I have some motivation to keep the server pure. Thanks again!
